Beliefs
- Man: Man was created in the image of a holy God. When Adam and Eve sinned in the garden, the whole human race fell into sin. We are born with a sin nature because of Adam’s and Eve’s sin. Man, on his own, is full of sin and has no desire to seek God or anything that is good.
- Sin: All men are born sinful. The penalty for that sin is death. Jesus Christ died on the cross in our place to purchase our salvation.
- God: God is a holy Being who is perfect in all His attributes. God is the Creator and Sustainer of life. God is a triune God meaning He exists in three Persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is also the righteous judge of all mankind. He is a God of love and grace.
- Salvation: Salvation is a gift of God that is given by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ.
- Jesus Christ: Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God. He was born of a virgin named Mary and lived a sinless life on earth. He willingly gave Himself over to be crucified by the Romans under the persuasive influence of the Jewish Sanhedrin. He, however, did not stay dead. He rose again three days later just like He had predicted. His sacrificial death on the cross was a substitution for the death penalty that was required for the sin of every person that would ever live. This substution made it possible for us to be righteous or sinless before a holy and just God. Jesus Christ paved the way for our salvation which is available only by faith in His finished work on the cross for us.
- Foregiveness: Jesus Christ took all our sin and shame on the cross and died for it there. Freedom from guilt, shame, and sin is found in the grace of God that is given by faith in the life and work of Jesus Christ on the cross.
- Scripture: The Bible is God’s inerrant Word written through human authors who were inspired by the Holy Spirit.
